Middle School Winter Sports Champions Announced
Great Hearts Academies February 10, 2026 -
The winter season of the Great Hearts Middle School League (GHMSL) has wrapped up and champions have been named for tennis, soccer, baseball, and softball. Under the leadership of Commissioner Blake Schilly, the league, which began back in 2008 with only six Great Hearts academies, has now grown to include 21 participating schools (including both Great Hearts and non-Great Hearts academies), making it one of the largest middle school leagues in the state of Arizona.
“As we conclude the 2025-26 GHMSL Winter Season, I continue to be incredibly proud of our student-athletes. They put in so much work and dedication to playing their respective sport, and they display humility and respect for their opponents,” shared Schilly. “We had 110 teams across the board compete in nearly 500 games this winter.”

Schilly has nothing but gratitude for all who were involved this season. “I want to thank the athletic directors, parents, coaches, and student-athletes that made this season a resounding success. Congratulations to all of the teams that won and participated in championships!”
We join Schilly in congratulating these middle school teams for their hard work and dedication that paid off this season. We look forward to seeing more wins and milestones for these student-athletes as they are just getting started in their school athletetic careers.
