2027-28 School Year Enrollment Dates
• Waitlist Rollover: Eligible families on the 2026–27 waitlist will have the opportunity to roll over into the 2027–28 waitlist Monday, October 19 – October 26, 2026.
• Open Enrollment: Open enrollment for new families will run Monday, November 2 – Thursday, December 31 — a 9-week period.
• Information Night: We will host family information night on Tuesday, November 17th at all Great Hearts Arizona locations.
• Lottery & Offers: Our lottery will be internal again this year and will take place in early January 2027.
• Kinder Offers will go out Tuesday, January 12th, 2027.
• 1st–12th Grade Offers will go out Tuesday, January 19th, 2027.
• Re-Enrollment for Current Families: Begins Monday, March 1st, 2027.

Rollover
For the 2027/28 school year, parents will need to opt in for rollover.
Your student qualifies for Rollover if:
• The waitlisted application was submitted before September 2nd, 2026.
• The waitlisted application is not for an exit grade (Archway 5th grade)
• Great Hearts Anthem, Great Hearts Roosevelt, Great Hearts Online, and Maryvale Prep are eligible to rollover a 5th grade waitlisted application
Rollover applications will be placed ahead of new, incoming, non-prioritized applications.
Reminder:
• Waitlisted applications cannot be rolled over from one academy to another.
• Waitlisted applications cannot be rolled over into the same grade.
• If your student receives an enrollment offer at any time during this school year, the rollover application for that academy will not be eligible for the waitlist next year. Parents will need to reapply to be on the 2027-28 waitlist.
Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is when families complete a new online application to selected school/s that they are not currently attending and would like to receive an offer of enrollment. Once the Open Enrollment period is completed, all applications submitted will be included in the Great Hearts Lottery.
Lottery
Any application submitted during the open enrollment period is eligible for a lottery. When academies receive more applications then there are seats available, an academy/grade independent lottery is held to determine the waitlist order. The lottery assigns a random number to each application and then the applications are ordered on the waitlist based on the lottery number, application type, and priority status.
Offers and Registration
After the Lottery, each Great Hearts academy will extend offers to families according to their number on the waitlist and fill any available seats for the next school year. Offers are sent in writing and families are given a deadline to accept their offer and complete registration.
Students who are in exit grades at an academy do not fill out re-enrollment paperwork, but will need to fill out a new enrollment application to attend another Great Hearts Academy.
