Great Hearts Mission
Classical education is not about creating an academic elite. Aristotle taught that education forms the soul, while Plato believed it should make individuals both morally and intellectually good. At Great Hearts, our mission is to cultivate the minds and hearts of students through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. We’re here to nurture growth, not just impart information. Students are not built like blocks to be filled with knowledge; they grow as whole human beings with their own will. Our role is to guide and shape this growth.
When students are in an environment that is safe, loving, and encourages curiosity, they develop into curious adults. If they’re taught to serve others and seek joy in selflessness, they grow into servant-hearted adults. This is the essence of Great Hearts. From the moment a student steps onto campus to when they leave, we’re devoted to cultivating virtue—habits of mind, soul, and heart.
Our goal is not just to impart values but to instill enduring virtues. These virtues are the foundation from which students’ lives and characters will flourish. Great Hearts strives to educate not just for academic success, but to shape thoughtful, morally grounded citizens who act out of the overflow of virtue, benefiting others. We seek to create people who are both intellectually sharp and morally good.
